New Year, Better Me

"New Year, New Me"

This phrase is repeated numerous times at the start of every year as we vow for a fresh start. It's a philosophy many in the fitness world adopt to capture a new audience. I am certainly guilty of using it as well.

I know it's already January 15th...but in a lot of ways, it feels like we're still in 2020 and the "New Year, New Me', just didn't fit what I need. Maybe it resonates with you, and maybe it doesn't. Life certainly isn't one size fits all!

This year, I decided it was time to change my mentality. 2020 was a year that we were not prepared for, at least I certainly was not. I personally ended the year beating myself up over the indulgences I enjoyed to just get through 2020. Getting through a day, a week, a month, the next zoom call, working from home, loss of life, homeschooling, a new business plan, and everything else we encountered in 2020 should not be looked at as a punishment, but we should truly celebrate what we accomplished and how we accomplished it shouldn't matter.

Why don't I need a "New Me" when I, and all of you got through one of the most difficult years we'll ever know. Because...We are good enough! We all need to embrace who we are and turn those attributes into out strengths to do good! We know we are capable of accomplishing things without becoming a "New Me"

Flipping the script...instead, I've embraced a "New Year, Better Me"!

Starting Sunday January 31st, Barre East and I will be starting an accountability group. This is open to anyone and everyone. We have set up a private group on Facebook that anyone can use as platform to help each other and improve ourselves, our families, and our community.

Think about joining us and find areas of your life that you think need improvement and let's put in the work both individually, and together, to be better.

It's okay to be a work in progress in 2021. Barre East and I propose that we learn to love and embrace ourselves again and celebrate our accomplishments, no matter how big or small. In the process we can grow together.

Below is an activity tracker that I will personally be using to help hold me accountable to achieve my larger goals.

We are stronger together than we can full imagine. Let's embrace 2021 and celebrate ourselves for the strong and driven people we all have the capacity to be both individually and as a community.

XOXO

Megan
