What made me get into Barre?

I was looking for a new type of workout that would keep me fit but was easier on the joints.  After years of lifting, running stadiums and competing my body was ready for a workout that was low impact, improved balance and flexibility and tones.  Barre checked all those boxes for me.

Why do I enjoy teaching Barre?

It’s a great workout that can be as challenging as individual wants to make it.  When teaching I try to give modifications so everyone will find what works for them.  Waking up at 4am is tough but the community I get to spend the hour with makes it worth it.  That is truly why I enjoy teaching …and to inflict a little pain

What position do I enjoy teaching the most?

Second position – building combos from 2ndposition that works all planes of the body and gets your heart rate up is my favorite.  There are so many variations you won’t be bored with this position…8 years later I’m not!

Favorite song?

Latto – “Big Energy” when those first beats drop that is a hype moment and I’m ready to get this class going.  Also anything P!NK, 90s Hip Hop, and a good mashup will always be on my playlist. ️️

Why do I enjoy teaching Barre?

Teaching keeps me accountable, helps me to build my “exercise” IQ, and share those benefits with others.  I’m a firm believer in use it or lose it and helping others continue to use it is really purposeful for me.   I’m looking forward to continuing to exercise with this amazing community and maybe working a little yoga flavor into my classes.

What position do I enjoy teaching the most?

Releve, anything that requires balance, and bicep/tricep work because it makes me feel strong.  And I love to incorporate stretches!!
