Meet Our Team

Megan Ellis
Owner, Barre Instructor
A message from Megan:
"To the Barre East Team: Thank you for making this the best environment to grow – as an individual and a leader. Your dedication, teamwork, enthusiasm and pure desire to build a community that supports, strengthens and empowers is evident and contagious. You have helped our clients grow – both physically and mentally. Thank you for all you do!
To our Clients: Thank you! Every single one of you has been so welcoming and supportive. You have challenged me as a business owner to be better. I will continue to ask for you to push yourselves – but at the end of the day, I always find myself reflecting on whether I pushed myself enough for you. Thank you for making Barre East a community and an environment where we can all strive to be better together. You are amazing women and I am thankful to know you."

Jessica Huebner
Barre Instructor
Jess has been with Barre East from its opening and has loved every minute! Her love of movement began early, and at age 3 her mom, a dance teacher, put her in ballet. Since then, she has danced professionally, began her ballet teaching career, became a certified group fitness instructor, became the owner and instructor of Fit4Mom Frederick for 5 years and became a certified barre instructor!
Jess realized her love of barre fitness when she took a class 4 years ago and so many aspects of it reminded her of being in a dance class. When she heard Barre East was opening, she jumped at the chance to get involved. Jess feels Barre fitness is an arena to release any stress while being able to push yourself to the next level!
Jess lives in New Market with her hubby and 3 beautiful kids and is thankful everyday to be able to do what she loves while still having time with her family!

Jennifer Leonard
Barre Instructor
Despite my slight southern twang, I was born and raised right here in Frederick! I am 1 of 4 kids, I graduated from TJ High School and went on to graduate from Wake Forest University in NC. I moved back to Frederick in 2015. I have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful kids. Madison is 20, CJ is 11, and Eli is 9. We have 3 Nigerian Dwarf goats, five chickens, too many bunnies, a cat, and a dog. Clearly I'm a country girl at heart!
My dance roots run deep and strong which is one reason Barre is close to my heart. I was a student at Frederick School of Classical Ballet for 15 years and was also a member of the Maryland Regional Ballet. It was through Frederick School of Classical Ballet that my connection to Meg and the Ellis family began, and the rest is history!
A word to my Barre East Barre Babes: I couldn't be the instructor that I am without all of you! Each time I teach a class I'm inspired by each of you to push a little harder and reach a little higher. I am so grateful for all of the wonderful ladies I've met and continue to meet through this studio. Every person who comes through that door feels like a new friend that quickly becomes family. I love each and every one of you and am thankful that Barre East is a part of my life!

Colleen Sherman
Barre Instructor
Meet Colleen! When Colleen is not taking Barre classes, she enjoys baking (chocolate chip cookies are her favorite), shopping, and drinking wine!
Colleen lives in Middletown with her husband and two kids, ages 5 and 2. She grew up in the area taking and teaching dance classes at Dee Buchanan Studio of Dance and was a member of the Madison Dance program at James Madison University. After college Colleen went on to teach elementary special education in Fairfax County, VA. During that time Colleen was constantly on the hunt for a way to incorporate more dance in her life! It wasn’t until she was pregnant with her second baby two years ago that she fell in love with Barre. The low impact workouts were exactly what she had been looking for!
Colleen loves taking classes at Barre East because they are all different, challenging, and so much fun -- and she's also seen amazing results!

Emily Einhorn
Barre Instructor
Emily grew up just down the road in Montgomery County. She has a bachelors degree from UMASS and a masters degree in Organizational Psychology from UMBC (She can organize a business but she can’t organize your closet!)
Emily has been married to her husband Mike for just over a year, and they have a giant furry cat named Crybaby. Emily and Mike moved to New Market in the Spring. Not long after, Emily found her Barre East family. Prior to moving from Bethesda, she was a certified fitness instructor. Emily was also an athlete growing up, before a knee injury, so she understands the importance of low impact fitness that’s gentle on the joints.
When Emily is not at the studio, she's always looking to try new things! Some of her recent adventures include aerial arts (static trapeze), belly dancing, improv, and cooking classes. Next up, flying lessons and hooping!
Emily has expressed how thankful she is to have found this welcoming, like-minded group of women. Every day is a new challenge for her and she enjoys passing on that challenge to her classes!
